A dramatic scene unfolded during Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s Shukrana Yatra at Rayya when Balwinder Kaur, mother of Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, confronted CM Mann over her son’s continued detention outside Punjab despite the reported end of the National Security Act (NSA) case against him.

Balwinder Kaur moved through heavy security and a gathering of supporters to reach close to the Chief Minister’s vehicle. She held Mann’s hand and asked him why Amritpal had not yet been brought back to Punjab after the expiry of the NSA provisions.

The Chief Minister was seen listening to the question but did not give any clear response at the spot.

In an appeal, Balwinder Kaur said that Amritpal Singh was also someone’s son and Mann should understand a mother’s pain. When she felt that her concerns were being ignored, she started raising slogans.
