Khairy Jamaluddin has taken on a new leadership role, this time as president of the Bukit Damansara Home Owners’ Association after being elected unopposed.
PETALING JAYA: Khairy Jamaluddin has taken on a new leadership role, this time as president of the Bukit Damansara Home Owners’ Association after being elected unopposed.
The former health minister, who rejoined Umno in April, shared the news in a two-minute video on social media, joking that his uncontested victory was a “landslide”.
“You might remember me from losing in the general election. I won recently. I’m now the president of the Bukit Damansara Home Owners’ Association.
“Landslide victory! I won uncontested. No one wanted this job, basically. As long as I won, right?” he said.
Using the video to highlight issues affecting the neighbourhood, Khairy pointed to the lack of pedestrian walkways, potholes, parking difficulties and safety concerns, saying these were everyday problems faced by residents and road users.
He stressed that the focus should be on addressing these challenges to make Bukit Damansara a more sustainable community.
Khairy also announced that the association will hold a town hall on Aug 8, where residents will be able to raise concerns, share ideas and receive updates.
Representatives from Kuala Lumpur City Hall and the police are expected to take part in the open dialogue.
