The traditional Baju Melayu (attire) is commonly won by most Malay men in Southeast Asia during major Islamic festival celebrations like Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Islamic New Year, Wedding receptions, particularly in countries with significant Malay population; Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. In its formal form, Baju Melayu is the national dress of Malaysia and Brunei, typically worn during official ceremonies, events and functions. A basic combination of this attire comes in 3 main parts. The first being the long sleeve baju, the second part is the trousers, and a skirt-type adornment, the samping. The attire altogether is completed with a black or dark-colored headgear called the songkok, and for official function, is replaced with tengkolok.

For 2026, in collaboration with the advise of my wife, Zarina, I've chosen Baju Melayu collections from the Khatam Conezion Putrajaya as special Eid Al-Fitr gift for our 2 sons & 2 grandsons which are timeless tradition to ensure they look sharp and well coordinated for the festivities. We wanted to create a unified look, with the matching sets available at Khatam. Our daughter in-law, Nadja is a card holder of Khatam so we can take advantage of the “Khatam Experience” for our gifts. We praised the pleasant customer service, fragrant ambience, offering discounts in facilitating for easy exchanges or alterations. (khatam.com.my>conezion-ioi-mall-putrajaya<)

Eid is a time of sharing happiness, and one of the most heartwarming traditions is giving gifts to loved ones. I pray our sons and grandsons can embrace the joy of Eid by wearing the Baju Melayu that being presented as gifts to them. Eid is one of the most beautiful times of the year - a moment to pause, reflect, and cherish the bonds of a family. As the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end, Eid brings a sense of renewal, gratitude, togetherness & unity.
