KUALA LUMPUR – Kia Sales Malaysia (KSM) has unveiled the latest iteration of the iconic Kia Carnival, marking the debut model following the automaker's establishment of a local presence in Malaysia.

The Carnival was chosen as the first model to launch under KSM due to its deep-rooted heritage in Malaysia, where it has been a beloved choice among families for years. Previously introduced as a locally assembled model, the Carnival continues this tradition.

Now available once again as a locally assembled (CKD) model, the new Kia Carnival is offered in two variants: a seven-seater and an 11-seater. The seven-seater features a 2-3-3-3 seating arrangement, while the 11-seater boasts a 2-3-3 configuration.

As an MPV, practicality is a key consideration, and the Carnival impresses in this area. Its boot space offers a generous 2,689 litres in the 11-seater and 1,827 litres in the seven-seater.

The third-row seats in both variants are equipped with fold-flat sinking capabilities, adding to the vehicle's cargo flexibility. Additionally, the 11-seater variant includes a foldable central jump seat, which, when unoccupied, serves as an armrest with integrated cup holders.

The seven-seater variant offers further comfort with Premium Relaxation Seats in the second row, featuring a lateral slide function for added convenience.

The Carnival also caters to connectivity needs, offering seven USB-C ports for charging as standard across both variants. The seven-seater goes the extra mile with heated and ventilated seats, as well as a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

Inside the cockpit, a curved panoramic display integrates a dual 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system, compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A head-up display ensures drivers can stay focused on the road while navigating.

Under the hood, the Carnival is powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine that produces 202 PS and 440 Nm of torque, achieving a claimed fuel consumption of 6.5 litres per 100 km (NEDC cycle). The engine is mated to an eight-speed transmission, providing smooth and efficient performance.

Safety remains a top priority for Kia, with the Carnival featuring eight airbags, including a new centre-side airbag designed to prevent secondary collisions between front-seat occupants in the event of a crash.

The MPV also boasts a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), such as Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCTA), and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2.0 (FCA 2.0), among others.

The Kia Carnival is priced at RM248,888 for the seven-seater variant, while the 11-seater is available for RM188,888. Both models come with a five-year or 150,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. - January 15, 2026
