Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan Supreme Council Member Chen Ket Chuin regretted the no-show by State Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe despite inviting him to visit the Kibing factory at KKIP, recently.

Chen said he was invited by the Minister’s political secretary to visit the factory to understand more about their investments in Sabah, adding the invitation was published in a local newspaper on Dec 9.

“I accepted it and informed the Minister that I will go to the office of Kibing at Menara MAA on Dec. 20 at 10am.

“Nobody from the Ministry showed up and no arrangement was made for me to visit the factory and to meet up with any personnel from Kibing.

Chen claimed Kibing would not assist Sabah.

“Kibing did not produce solar panels with photovoltaic technology,” he said in a statement.

He claimed Kibing’s main interest is to extract the sand in Kudat and produce glass in KKIP which Kibing would ship to China.

“Kibing is a glass manufacturer in China. It produces wide range of glasses but not limited to ultra-clear glass and tinted glass.

“The Ministry’s announcement that a glass producer company will manufacture solar panel in Sabah confuses the public. Even the senior ministers are confused,” he claimed.
