Who is Lingling?

The 20-year-old Kpop star made headlines last year as the first Malaysian contestant on the Korean variety show I-LAND 2. Lingling captured the hearts of viewers for being the only Southeast Asian contestant among the 24 Korean and Japanese. Though she was eliminated near the show’s finale, many fans showed their support to her and believed she could debut with another group.
Lingling’s real name is Alicia Wong Lingling. She was born and raised in Klang, Selangor. After travelling to South Korea, she was once a trainee under YG Entertainment, one of the ‘big four’ Kpop agencies. Having spent most of her early years in Malaysia and South Korea, she grew to be a multilingual talent, speaking Malay, Chinese, English, and Korean fluently.
