SEOUL: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is likely seeking to restore closer ties with China and get economic assistance by visiting Beijing this week for a war anniversary, a South Korean lawmaker said on Tuesday, citing a report by the country’s spy agency.

Kim crossed the border into China early on Tuesday and is expected to arrive in Beijing by train late in the day, member of parliament Lee Seong-kweun told reporters. - Reuters
