
THE KING and Queen of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah, marked the beginning of Hari Raya Aidilfitri 1446H/2025M with a solemn and festive prayer session at the Federal Territory Mosque in Kuala Lumpur.
Bernama reported their Majesties were joined by a host of prominent figures, including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Upon their arrival, Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah proceeded to the prayer hall, where they took part in the special Aidilfitri prayers, led by the Federal Territories Mufti, Assoc Prof Datuk Dr Luqman Abdullah.
The ceremony marked a deeply spiritual moment for the Royal Family and the congregation, offering a chance for reflection and unity during the auspicious celebration.
The occasion underscores the significant role of the Malaysian monarchy in promoting religious harmony and national unity, with the Royal couple’s presence at the prayers symbolising both tradition and leadership within the Islamic community.
Other dignitaries in attendance included Tan Sri Johari Abdul, Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department for Religious Affairs Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
