HIS MAJESTY Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, the King and Queen of Malaysia, have conveyed their heartfelt Wesak Day wishes to all Buddhists across the nation, urging Malaysians to uphold mutual respect and understanding in pursuit of lasting harmony.
In a message shared on the official Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, Their Majesties stressed that Malaysia’s multiracial fabric is both the strength and the foundation of national unity.
“In our multiracial society, harmony is achieved when we show mutual respect and understanding toward one another.
“Together, let us build a more peaceful, united, prosperous future. Happy Wesak Day to all Buddhists in the country,” the royal message read.
Wesak Day, observed today, marks the three pivotal events in the life of Gautama Buddha—his birth, enlightenment, and passing—and is the most significant day in the Buddhist calendar. - May 12, 2025
