King Charles and Queen Camilla lay wealth at war memorial on final day of US State visit

  • The King and Queen visited Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia where they laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and spoke with military officials.
  • The royals also visited the Canadian Cross of Sacrifice, which commemorates US citizens who volunteered for the Canadian Expeditionary Force and died in World War I.
  • Their visit concluded with a tour of an exhibition, led by executive director Karen Durham-Aguilera and senior historian Allison Finkelstein.
  • During the rest of their final day, the royals are set to attend a party marking the 250th anniversary of American independence, meet members of indigenous communities and discuss climate change projects, according to US media.
  • The King will then travel to Bermuda, making his first visit as monarch to a British overseas territory.
