- Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer described the crash, between two East Midlands Railway trains, as "hugely concerning".
- A total of 33 people were taken to hospital with serious injuries, and a further 56 sustained minor injuries, according to British Transport Police.
- Passengers described being "flung" around the carriage in the crash and witnessing people with "life-threatening, major injuries" and "snapped legs".
