The King of the Monsters returns in the latest trailer for "Godzilla Minus Zero," as a familiar foe steps up to challenge him.
The sequel picks up in 1949—two years after Godzilla was "vanquished" in the first film. However, he survived, has grown even larger, and is ready to terrorize Japan once again.
But Godzilla is not the only kaiju in the film, as fans quickly noticed a familiar roar and flashes of golden lightning, hinting at the appearance of King Ghidorah.
King Ghidorah is Godzilla's mortal nemesis in the film franchise, leading to many memorable battles from the Showa and Heisei eras to the Millennium era and MonsterVerse.
Most of the main cast from "Godzilla Minus One" are also returning, including Ryunosuke Kamiki as protagonist Kōichi Shikishima and Minami Hamabe as his wife, Noriko.
"Godzilla Minus Zero" will open in Japan on November 3 and in North America on November 6. It will also be released simultaneously around the world during the same week, including in Latin America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
