HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has graciously bestowed a new mosque for residents of the Batu Muda area, fulfilling a long-held wish to contribute a place of worship for communities in the capital.
In a statement shared on the Facebook page Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, His Majesty said the mosque would be built on a site measuring approximately 0.8 hectares near the Batu Muda People’s Housing Project.
“I have long harboured the intention of donating a mosque for residents in the Kuala Lumpur area, and after discussions with the Mayor, on this blessed Friday, this wish has been realised,” His Majesty said.
He added that all costs related to the construction would be borne personally. “The entire cost of building this mosque will be funded by me. The design will also be determined by me and will be modelled on Masjid Kampung Mahmoodiah in Johor Bahru. May it be of benefit to all, in this world and the hereafter, God willing,” His Majesty said.
Sultan Ibrahim made the remarks during an audience granted to the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud, at Istana Bukit Tunku on Friday.
