King hails Global Sumud Flotilla as noble symbol of borderless humanitarianism

HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has described the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) as a noble humanitarian effort that reflects boundless brotherhood and compassion for the people of Gaza.

In a message shared by the Royal Press Office, the King said the flotilla serves as a powerful example of cross-border solidarity, particularly in aiding the elderly, women and children suffering from hunger in the conflict-ridden territory.

“The volunteers, including Malaysians, took on tremendous risks and challenges in order to deliver a message of humanity to the world,” said His Majesty.

“They were carrying nothing but food supplies and yet were obstructed and detained. This stands in direct contradiction to universal humanitarian values.”

Earlier today, the King granted an audience to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Istana Bukit Tunku, during which the Prime Minister briefed His Majesty on the latest developments surrounding the GSF, including Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to secure the release of detained volunteers.

Sultan Ibrahim also offered prayers for the safety and success of the mission, expressing hope that Malaysia’s endeavours to support its citizens would be eased and divinely protected. - October 3, 2025
