Malaysia's monarch, Sultan Ibrahim, has urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into allegations of child abuse and exploitation at charity homes linked to Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holding (GISBH). The King's directive comes after a series of disturbing reports emerged, prompting police raids across Negeri Sembilan and Selangor.

On September 11, police rescued 402 children from 20 welfare homes, arresting 171 suspects in connection with alleged child abandonment, sexual assault, and harassment. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed that the rescued children, aged one to 17, were undergoing documentation and health checks.

Abuse and Neglect Uncovered

Preliminary investigations have revealed shocking cases of physical and emotional abuse, including:

- Beating and caning

- Severe pressure and burning with hot objects

- Child grooming and labor

- Negligence and malnutrition

Authorities have frozen 96 bank accounts linked to GISBH, valued at RM581,552.31, and confiscated eight vehicles.

Investigation Update

The police are focusing on investigating allegations of child exploitation, with plans to summon GISBH's executive chairman and CEO, Datuk Nasiruddin Mohd Ali, for questioning. The Inspector-General of Police assured that the probe is ongoing, with three investigation papers to be submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) for further action.

Sultan Ibrahim emphasized the importance of safeguarding Islamic faith and handling sensitive religious issues with care. He cautioned against extreme statements or opinions, urging all parties to prioritize the well-being and safety of the affected children.

The GISBH scandal has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for swift justice and reforms to prevent similar cases in the future. The incident has also raised concerns about the lack of oversight and regulation of charitable organizations in Malaysia.

As the investigation unfolds, Malaysians await justice for the victims and accountability for those responsible. The King's intervention underscores the gravity of the situation, and the nation remains vigilant, demanding swift action against those who have betrayed the trust of vulnerable children.

In the wake of this scandal, the Malaysian government must take concrete steps to strengthen child protection laws and ensure that charitable organizations operate with transparency and accountability.

The GISBH case serves as a stark reminder of the need for collective responsibility in safeguarding the welfare and safety of Malaysia's most vulnerable citizens – its children.
