KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, graced the QSR Brands Shared Efforts in Helping Underprivileged Students event at a hotel here.

The King was greeted upon arrival by QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd chief executive officer and managing director Nehchal Khanna and the company’s top management, according to a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s official Facebook page.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil was also present at the event.

Sultan Ibrahim witnessed the presentation of a mock cheque for RM1 million from Nehchal to representatives of the first selected educational institutions.

The inaugural recipients are Sekolah Kebangsaan Tasek Utara in Johor Bahru, also known as Sekolah Rintis Bangsa Johor, and the Baitul Sakinah Care Centre in Selangor.

In his speech, Nehchal stated that the corporate social responsibility initiative was inspired by His Majesty’s consistent concern for giving back to the community and supporting national development.

“This initiative focuses on education and welfare by providing students with a stronger foundation and meaningful opportunities to improve their lives,” he said.
