HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has warned that any mismanagement of sensitive issues could erode public confidence in the nation’s administration, urging authorities to act with precision, firmness and care.

In His Majesty’s 2026 Hari Raya Aidilfitri address, Sultan Ibrahim underscored that there must be no room for error in governance, particularly on matters that could inflame divisions, while renewing his call for decisive action against threats to national unity.

“The management of sensitive issues by the authorities must also be prudent and take into account all related aspects, leaving no room for error. Show that the actions taken are correct, firm and precise so as not to erode confidence in the country’s administration,” he said.

He stressed that divisive elements must be dealt with firmly, reiterating concerns he had raised previously.

“I would also like to repeat the advice given in last year’s Hari Raya message, but it seems many have forgotten or chosen to ignore it — namely that any elements that threaten the unity of the people must be eradicated without compromise,” he said.

The King expressed hope that his reminder would be heeded and translated into concrete action by all parties.

Amid the cautionary message, he marked Aidilfitri with prayers of gratitude and reflection following the fasting month of Ramadan.

“Allahuakbar Allahuakbar Allahuakbar Walillahil Hamd. We are grateful to Allah SWT, the Lord of all creation. Peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad SAW, the noblest of Messengers, and upon his companions,” he said.

“Praise be to Allah, we are granted the blessing of celebrating Aidilfitri and welcoming the month of Syawal after striving for the rewards of worship and purifying the soul during the noble month of Ramadan.”

He called on Malaysians to remain mindful of the plight of Muslims worldwide affected by conflict and oppression.

“As we celebrate Hari Raya, let us continue to pray to Allah SWT that the fate of Muslims around the world, especially those who are oppressed amid violence, will be safeguarded and that they will be granted victory and lasting peace, In Shaa Allah.”

The King also urged compassion towards the less fortunate, reminding citizens to extend assistance where needed.

“Let us also remember those who are less fortunate among us, and continue to extend assistance to ease the burdens of those in need.”

He added that the spiritual discipline cultivated during Ramadan should endure beyond the festive season.

“May the worship performed throughout the month of Ramadan make us a people who are more steadfast and obedient to Allah SWT.”

In closing, the King and Queen offered prayers for the nation’s continued stability and prosperity, alongside a reminder for personal responsibility during the celebrations.

“In closing, my wife and I pray that all the people and the nation will be protected from calamities, and be blessed with prosperity, well-being and strong unity. Be careful on the roads and practise moderation in eating. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.” - March 21, 2026
