Tuaran: Sabah and Sarawak need to unite as a strong Borneo Bloc, said Pantai Dalit Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) chief Datuk Jasnih Daya.
“GRS (Gagasan Rakyat Sabah) and GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) are the central core in the existence of the Borneo Bloc, as their two main leaders have a good understanding and wisdom in administrating their respective governments,” he said at the Pantai Dalit Gagasan Rakyat annual general meeting, here, Saturday.
He also said Gagasan Rakyat and GRS must be solidified to be a prominent platform for unifying local political parties under a single common struggle.
Gagasan Rakyat’s mission, he said, is clear – to protect the rights of Sabahans under Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) that needs to be fulfilled by the Federal Government.

“GRS will be Sabah’s fort to govern the State well for the benefit of the people.”
“Sabah is a state rich in natural resources, but certain quarters manipulate some. The fragility of political power is the main reason the people lose power, and the State often witnesses government changes.”
To this end, he said, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor’s aspiration to establish Gagasan Rakyat and GRS is timely and should be supported.
“Sabahans must rise to unite the political power of Sabah.
“Gagasan Rakyat and its allies in GRS are a complete solution for the Sabah people’s struggle,” he said.
Jasnih also said the Pantai Dalit division is ready to face any challenges in the next election.
“We will ensure that Pantai Dalit will be a tough road for those who want to challenge us.
“We must defend the government and the Chief Minister,” he said.
Some 1,000 delegates from 167 branches attended the meeting.
