E-wallet KiplePay has rolled out some updates for a number of its features, including revising the monthly top-up limit via credit and debit cards, as well as introducing a service fee for National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN) transactions. These changes are set to take place starting from 25 July 2022.

With regard to the new monthly limit for credit and debit card reloads, KiplePay is now setting the top-up limit for such reloads to RM1,000 per month. Prior to this, users who top up their KiplePay through this method were only restricted by the wallet limit itself (up to RM10,000, depending on your e-wallet tier) – which was itself a massive upgrade from the previous daily reload limit of RM500 for credit card top-ups. Meanwhile, there are no changes for those reloading via online banking.

Aside from that, KiplePay has also announced that it will be imposing a service fee of RM1 for every PTPTN transaction performed, impacting the following services:

  • Bayaran Balik
  • Simpan SSPN Plus
  • Simpan SSPN Prime

Previously, KiplePay users do not need to pay any fees to perform these PTPTN transactions, unlike many other platforms and payment channels. According to KiplePay in its FAQ, the new RM1 fee will be added to your checkout amount when you carry out your PTPTN transactions.

On that note, do be cautioned that PTPTN services will be temporarily made unavailable on KiplePay starting from 6 July 2022 as it is carrying out some upgrade works. It did not clarify when the services will be reinstated, so if you happen to have any urgent payments or transactions, make sure to take time to carry them out before 6 July.
