Reframing the familiar ‘kepoh’ culture as a unique expression of care, the campaign highlights how Malaysians champion one another through everyday acts of support.
KUALA LUMPUR – Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad (SJPP) today launched its 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day campaign: Kisah ‘Kepoh Bisnes’, celebrating one of Malaysia’s most familiar traits as a reflection of how Malaysians care for one another.
The campaign film stars actress Aishah Azman as Aishah, a young entrepreneur pursuing her dream, and follows the people around her who are constantly curious about her progress. Through a light-hearted portrayal of a familiar Malaysian behaviour, the film reveals a deeper truth: the same people who ask questions are often the first to step forward when support is needed.
Juanita Rusmini Abdul Jalil, Principal Officer of Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad (SJPP) said, Kisah ‘Kepoh Bisnes’ celebrates a uniquely Malaysian way of caring - by taking an interest, getting involved and supporting one another’s dreams. At SJPP, we believe that every successful business journey is built on more than financing alone - it is also shaped by encouragement, trust, and the support of people around us. Through Kisah ‘Kepoh Bisnes’, we want to celebrate a uniquely Malaysian quality that reflects our spirit of looking out for one another while reinforcing SJPP's commitment to helping entrepreneurs access financing and turn their aspirations into reality. Our campaign theme, 'Malaysia Kita, Impian Bersama', reflects our belief that when Malaysians from all backgrounds and communities come together to support one another, we create greater opportunities, stronger businesses and a brighter future for everyone."

The campaign was built around a simple yet meaningful cultural observation: Malaysians are often known for being ‘kepoh’. While this trait is commonly associated with curiosity, the campaign
reframes it as a uniquely Malaysian expression of care, where people take an interest in one another's lives, celebrate each other's successes and are always willing to lend a helping hand when it matters most.
“The theme ‘Malaysia Kita, Impian Bersama’, serves as the creative foundation of this campaign, reminding us that every dream is strengthened by the people who believe in us. We hope Kisah 'Kepoh Bisnes' encourages Malaysians to appreciate the everyday acts of care and encouragement that often go unnoticed, and inspires us to continue supporting one another in building a stronger, more united and inclusive Malaysia, where our multiracial society continues to support and uplift one another,” added Juanita.
The campaign will roll out throughout the National Day and Malaysia Day period, beginning with the launch of the campaign film on 14 August 2026. To further encourage Malaysians to share their own stories of care and support, social contests will also take place during the campaign period, with participants standing a chance to win prizes.
Through Kisah ‘Kepoh Bisnes’, SJPP hopes to inspire Malaysians to see ‘kepoh’ in a new light. Not as a flaw, but as a reflection of our shared spirit of care, support and togetherness. Because in Malaysia, when one person has a dream, it is never theirs alone. We show up, we get involved, and together, we help turn dreams into reality.

About Kisah ‘Kepoh Business’:
Aishah is a young entrepreneur whose humble homestay grows faster than she can manage. As her business expands, she faces mounting challenges, from double bookings and system failures to disappointed guests, well-meaning but unsolicited advice from her family, and the constant curiosity of her two famously ‘kepoh’ neighbours. When Aishah is nearly deceived into taking an illegitimate business loan by scammers, it is these same neighbours who step in to help, introducing her to SJPP and the support available through its financing guarantee schemes.
Through this light-hearted yet meaningful story, Kisah ‘Kepoh Bisnes’ highlights the importance of seeking trusted financing and showcases SJPP's role in facilitating access to financing for Malaysian SMEs by providing government-backed financing guarantees through participating financial institutions. More importantly, the film celebrates the uniquely Malaysian spirit of looking out for one another, reminding us that behind every successful dream is a community willing to lend a helping hand - because Malaysia Kita, Impian Bersama.
