PETALING JAYA: Health minister Khairy Jamaluddin has denied receiving funds from Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd (UKSB), a company implicated in the corruption trial of Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Khairy said he had never received any political funds, adding that he was willing to assist the authorities in any investigation on the matter.
“I have never received anything personally, whether money or political funds. I am ready to cooperate if I get summoned (by the authorities),” he told a press conference.
“I don’t receive political funds.”
On June 13, a former director of UKSB told the Shah Alam High Court in Zahid’s corruption trial his company had given money to Khairy’s Rembau Umno division.
Wan Quoris Shah Wan Abdul Ghani said contributions of between RM50,000 and RM200,000 were made to the division, but not given directly or personally to Khairy.
Others who were implicated at the trial include former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin, former foreign minister Anifah Aman, Warisan president Shafie Apdal, housing and local government minister Reezal Merican Naina Merican and defence minister Hishammuddin Hussein.
Anifah and Muhyiddin have also denied receiving any money from UKSB.
