Kota Kinabalu: State police will be taking disciplinary action on an Alamesra cop if found negligent for failure in preventing the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old woman at her workplace in Jesselton Shopping Mall, here, in late May, said Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun.

A report was lodged by the victim’s mother, Siti Aminah Jabarhan, at the Karamunting police station on Monday claiming police had taken lightly their earlier report relating to verbal threats towards the victim, Nurul Ain Silien, by her ex-fiancé Chung King Fung.

Siti Aminah said Chung had threatened to hurt her daughter saying: “I will never let her be at peace” and “I will be going after Nurul’s friends as well” when the victim broke up with him purportedly after Chung constantly lied to her and sold off the victim’s jewellery.

Siti Aminah said the police officer in charge of her case did not offer any advice or conduct a follow-up action when the report was lodged leading to her daughter’s violent end the morning after.
