KKB win signal to govt to keep up good work, says Anwar

PAKATAN Harapan’s win in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election is a clear signal for the unity government to redouble its efforts to attract investors and strengthen the economy, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

Anwar said the unity government will continue to fulfil its responsibility to the people.

“During PKR’s 25th anniversary celebration in Sentul, I began my speech by congratulating the Pakatan Harapan candidate on successfully defending the Kuala Kubu Baharu state seat,” he said on Facebook.

He thanked the PH and Barisan Nasional parties for showing unity and high spirits on the campaign trail.

PH candidate Pang Sock Tao of DAP won the seat with a 3,869-vote majority over Khairul Azhari Saut (PN). The two other candidates, Hafizah Zainuddin (PRM) and Nyau Ke Xin (Independent), lost their deposits.

Anwar reminded PKR members, especially the younger generation, to embrace idealism and not to be tempted to enrich themselves.

He said PKR’s young leaders must be nurtured and prepared to continue the struggle for justice. – May 12, 2024.
