Concert tourism expected to boost Malaysia’s economy

Live Nation Malaysia managing director Para Rajagopal said beyond ticket sales, the economic impact is expected to benefit multiple sectors, including hotels, airlines, retail, food and beverage, while creating opportunities for local businesses and communities across the city.

According to Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh, major concerts and events attract international visitors and contribute to the broader tourism ecosystem.

Communications minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil also stressed the importance of the “Buy Safe Tickets” campaign, which aims to educate the public about concert ticket scams, including AI-generated fraud circulating on social media.
