Klang hit by floods again after heavy downpour

KUALA LUMPUR – Many netizens have reported floods in several parts of Klang following heavy downpour this afternoon.

On Twitter, some of them shared images and videos of the rising water levels, with some reporting floodwater entering their homes.

One user with the Twitter handle @MuhdDinesh said at least three areas have been affected so far, including Bandar Puteri Klang, Taman Sentosa, and Bandar Botanic Klang.

The user, who is a resident of Klang, uploaded a photograph of the tiled floor of his house which had been inundated with water.

He also said there was a “repeat” of flooding in his area, likely referring to the deluge in the locality last year.

He called on Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Kota Kemuning assemblyman Ganabatirau Veraman and outgoing Klang MP Charles Santiago to visit the affected areas.

Another user @adhakadavara lamented the heavy traffic jams during floods, apart from other urbanite problems.

“Floods during rain. Congested roads. Terrible public transportation,” the user said.

Seriously, how can residents of Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley cope with all of this (at the same time) almost on a daily basis?”

Many users also expressed anger and frustration over traffic jams, which were worsened by the current LRT service disruption, while others uploaded images of heavy rain on their Twitter accounts. – The Vibes, November 9, 2022
