PETALING JAYA: The man who shot a bodyguard in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) 1 was making preparations for his work in Saudi Arabia, according to the police.
Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said on Saturday (April 20) that the shooter, Hafizul Harawi, 38, had done his medical check-up one week before the shooting, The Star reported.
“It is believed he went to Kelantan after the shooting to collect his medical report (as required for his new job),“ he said.
Hussein also said that police would apply for Hafizul’s remand, which expires on April 22, to be extended for another seven days.
Not only that, he added that police have recorded statement from 27 individuals.
On Sunday (April 14), Hafizul had intended to shoot his wife, Farah Md Isa, but missed and shot her bodyguard Muhammad Nur Hadith, 38, at his abdominal area.
Hafizul fled the scene and but was caught by the police on Monday (April 15) in Kota Bharu, Kelantan and was issued a seven-day remand until April 22.
