PETALING JAYA: The bodyguard shot in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 1 (KLIA 1) will be undergoing surgery today.

Muhammad Nur Hadith’s, 38, surgery has been confirmed by his wife, Siti Noraida Hassan, 38, who said he was brought into the operating theatre in Cyberjaya Hospital, the New Straits Times reported.

Nur Hadith was earlier reported to have been shot in his abdominal area and was reportedly in critical condition after the bullet had struck his intestines.

Later, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed that the bodyguard is in stable condition at the hospital.

On Sunday (April 14), the shooter, Hafizul Hawari, 38, had fired two shots toward his wife but missed and shot Nur Hadith instead, who was her assigned bodyguard.

Hafizul is currently under remand for seven days until Monday (April 22) under Section 117 of Criminal Procedure Code.

Today, the suspect will be brought into Kuala Lumpur for further investigation.
