GEORGE TOWN, Nov 24 — The Penang state government is ready to work as a team with the federal government under the leadership of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who will be sworn in as the new prime minister later today.

Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the appointment of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman as the 10th prime minister will be well received by the people.

“I believe Anwar has plans to strengthen the administration and rally for support from the people,” he said.

He expressed his relief that Anwar was finally appointed as prime minister to form a unity government.

“This starts a new history for the country, and it will also be a new chapter for the country to move forward,” he said.

He said Penang will move forward together with the new government.
