I can still remember learning from my Asian Institute of Management (AIM) alumna, Dr. Tae Sook “Sugar” Han, a corporate leader in Seoul and Chapter Head, Federation of AIM Alumni (FAIM) Korea, that “The uniqueness of Korean culture and values stems from a powerful blend of the ancient Confucian traditions and ultra-modern global innovation. Its core societal values: Jeong - a unique concept of deep emotional attachment, warmth, and collective bonding. It builds strong, lifelong relationships and a duty to help others. Hyo: deep respect for parents, ancestors, and elders. Chemyeon: preservation of honor, reputation, and social standing. Nunchi: the subtle art of reading and gauging others' feelings & anticipating needs without verbal communication.”

Whereas, I learned from my daughter, Zana who studied Global MBA program for three years in Busan & Seoul, that K-Food philosophy, “Food is viewed as medicine (Yaksikdongwon). Korean traditional meals focus on balance, featuring fermented dishes like Kimchi that promote gut health, and well-being.” My family and I had visited Korea many times when Zana was studying at Chung Ann University (CAU) in Seoul - one of the top 3 universities in Korea.

In our weekend walkabouts, my wife, Zarina, and I discovered the Kor.B Korean Restaurant, located at Shaftsbury Square in Cyberjaya, offering a wide variety of dishes like Tteokbokki, Kimchi Pancake & Bibimbap in one sitting. The concept behind Kor.B's mini bowls at affordability price that make it stand out. This makes authentic Korean Cuisine highly accessible to college students, young families and international tech professionals in the Cyberjaya area. (https://www.instagram.com>@Kor.B.Malaysia<)

Dr. Zul said “Korean cuisine is famous for its bold flavors with deep historical roots can incredibly be healthy, emphasizing fresh vegetables, lean proteins, and gut-friendly fermented foods.” Pix: Zarina

I noticed Kor.B is similar to the concept of “boat noodles”, the small portions allow us to enjoy a wide variety of dishes from savory Beef Bulgogi and Spicy Soft Tofu Stew to Volcano Fried Chicken, without over-ordering or over-paying. It is known to be Muslim-friendly, utilizing total halal-certified ingredients.
