KOTA BELUD: Yayasan Koperasi Serbausaha Makmur Berhad (Kosma) has allocated more than RM300,000 to guide 30 local entrepreneurs in Sabah through its Joran 2.0 Entrepreneurship and Skills Programme.

The four-day programme, held at Wendu Inn Tag Valley Taginambur in partnership with Mahabbah Malaysia, provided participants with training, business equipment, seed capital and six months of monitoring support.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick (pic), who officiated the closing ceremony, welcomed the initiative, saying it complements the government’s wider efforts to strengthen entrepreneurship.

Ewon, who is also Kadamaian assemblyman, expressed hope that the new participants will emulate the achievements of Joran 1.0 graduates, who went on to expand their businesses and inspire others.

Kosma chairman Datuk Zamri Mohamed said the success of the first programme, which saw participants’ combined earnings grow from RM300,000 to nearly RM500,000 in six months, shows the approach works, and the next series will be held in Pahang.
