Kota Kinabalu crowned MSSM tennis meet champs

Kota Kinabalu: Kota Kinabalu was crowned overall champions in the Sabah School Sports Council (MSSS) 2023 Tennis tournament which took place at the Sandakan District Tennis Association tennis court on Aug 22-24.

They won four gold medals through Shan Danial Sham Solo Bahary (boys under-18), Sabrena Eniola Obafemi (girls under-18), Rus Zareef Hazmy Hilmy (boys under-15) and Eliora Hii Xiang Xin (girls under-15).

The also took three silvers from Danish Afiq Hamzah (boys under-18) and Hannah Hii Xiang Xin (girls under-15) and Selena Aeyla Obafemi (girls under-12) in addition to five bronze medals delivered by Chloe Wong Ai Fong (girls under-18), Kimi Joshua Rayner (boys under-15), Nur Farhana Natasha Mohd Firdaus (girls under-15), Theida Li Yi (girls under-12) and Lauren Lee Zhang Yi (girls under-12).

Sanadakn came second with two golds from Bradley Oscar Johannes (boys under-12), Scharllotte Avryll Silvester (girls under-12) and three bronze medals by Stevie Alfie Silvester (boys under-18), Shawn Alfie (boys under-15), Muhammad Ryan Rayzan Ronney (boys under-12).

A total of 162 students from 11 districts took part in the tournament organised by SMK Elopura 2 and the Sandakan District Education Office.

The closing and prize presentation ceremony was officiated by Sandakan District’s assistant officer Ahmad Yussof representing Sandakan District Education Officer Munah Haji Nasri.
