Kota Kinabalu: The Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu Vintage raised over RM180,000 in its Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Fundraising Campaign to support the installation of 16 AED units across key public locations in the city to aid heart patients.
The campaign was officially launched during the club’s Installation and Induction dinner, which also saw the appointment of Harry Vun as the new President.
Organising Chairperson Dolly Chin said the campaign was introduced as part of the club’s renewed commitment to life-saving initiatives and community service.

“We chose to launch the AED initiative on this meaningful occasion to rally our members, partners, and guests toward a cause that directly saves lives.”
The funds raised will be used to install AED machines in schools, community halls, sports facilities and other high-traffic areas where quick access to defibrillation could make the difference between life and death during cardiac emergencies.
Vun, in his welcoming address, thanked all sponsors, guests and club members for their support and generosity.
He also emphasized the importance of public awareness on CPR readiness and AED accessibility, and said the campaign will continue with a series of outreach programmes and fundraising events in the months ahead.
“Every contribution brings us closer to a safer, more prepared community,” he said.
