Kota Kinabalu: A significant portion of the Kota Kinabalu Parti Warisan Division Committee decided to leave the party in favour of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah led by Chief Minister Datuk Sri Hajiji Noor.

The group called on Hajiji in Sri Gaya led by Petagas Assemblyman cum Tanjung Aru Gagasan Rakyat Division Head Datuk Awang Ahmad Sah and Tanjung Aru Gagasan Rakyat Division Secretary Judy Hiew.

In a statement, they said the general election has ended and the people have decided to form a Unity Government.

They said prior to this, many people suffered as a result of Covid-19 but that the situation has improved.

People are now able to engage in business in a stable political climate, and they are also tired of the country’s instability caused by political disagreements,” they said.

“The Chief Minister said he is working hard to resolve the salty water issue in Sandakan and ensure people have access to clean water.

At the same time, he wants to attract more foreign investments in order to increase job opportunities and keep local youths from migrating to the peninsula or abroad to work.

“The Chief Minister additionally said that he will do everything in his power to make Sabah a better and more prosperous place,” they said. Among those who announced their exit are Warisan Supreme Council Member cum Kota Kinabalu Warisan Deputy Head Nicholas Chak, Kota Kinabalu Warisan Vice Head Dato’ David Chong, Kota Kinabalu Warisan Wanita Head cum West Likas Branch Head Faridah Wasli, Wira Warisan Deputy Head cum Kota Kinabalu Wira Head Maxxy Loo and Kota Kinabalu Warisan Committee members Norsham Wasli, Nurul Akmal, Yim Woei Cherng, Timothy Hill, Rickcy Lim, Jack Chin, Christiana Yong, Pungut Jouya, Mohd Khairul and Nicholas Tan.
