KOTA MARUDU: A hospital cleaner endured over 30 minutes of pain after her right hand got trapped in an adjustable bed in the maternity ward on Saturday.
Firefighters from the Kota Marudu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) used special equipment to widen the bed’s metal frame and free her hand.
Operations Commander PBK I Asman Omar said the 49-year-old victim suffered injuries, including a puncture wound likely caused by pressure from the bed’s metal and screws.
The incident occurred around 4:10 PM while she was cleaning when she slipped and got trapped.
A team of six firefighters, led by PBK II Jakri Bahar, responded to the emergency call at 4:42 PM and freed her within six minutes before handing her over to hospital staff for treatment.
