KPDN warns against subsidy misappropriation, launches OPS TIRIS 4.0 and enforces RON95 ban for foreign vehicles from April 1 to curb leakages.

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has issued a firm warning that any attempt to exploit the current global conflict for subsidy abuse will not be tolerated.

Its Enforcement director-general Datuk Azman Adam stated that misappropriating national subsidies constitutes a betrayal of the people and the country.

“The strictest enforcement action will be taken with no compromise,” he said in a statement.

He urged all Malaysians, including consumers and traders, to support the KITA GEMPUR initiative for the common good.

Some 2,400 KPDN enforcement officers nationwide are now on high alert to conduct inspections and monitoring.

Azman added that through OPS TIRIS 4.0, the ministry will strengthen cooperation with border control and police agencies to close leakage gaps.

In line with energy sustainability efforts, KPDN will fully enforce the ban on RON95 petrol sales to foreign-registered vehicles from April 1.

Controls on diesel sales for land transport based on vehicle category will also start in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan on the same date.

The ministry will continue tightening enforcement to curb smuggling and ensure stable supply of controlled goods.

This effort aligns with the Prime Minister’s call to secure the country’s energy supply, Azman noted.

As the ministry overseeing controlled goods, KPDN has outlined aggressive strategies to address potential global fuel supply disruptions.

Several strategic measures will be implemented to ensure supplies remain accessible to the public.

The public can channel complaints via WhatsApp 019-848 8000 or the KPDN e-Aduan portal.
