THE MINISTRY of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has launched the ‘Jualan Rahmah Madani (PJRM) Back to School 2025’ initiative to help ease the burden on families in making school preparations for their children.
This program began on January 18, 2025, and is scheduled to run until February 16, 2025, in conjunction with the school holiday season.
“This initiative is a continuation of the government's commitment in Budget 2025, where allocations for programmes under the Payung Rahmah initiative were increased from RM200 million to RM300 million. This step aims to strengthen the implementation of programmes under this initiative, including improvements and expansion of methods and target groups for PJRM,” said Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali in a statement on Sunday.
Armizan explained through ‘PJRM Back to School 2025’, a total of 174 supermarkets, shopping centres, and clothing stores across the country are involved, offering discounts of between 10 and 30 per cent cheaper than current market prices for school supplies. Consumers can get a variety of necessities such as school uniforms, school shoes, school bags, and stationery supplies.
As of February 8, 2025, a total of 101 PJRM Back to School series have been implemented out of 243 total targeted.
The public can refer to the PJRM Calendar through the link [https://www.kpdn.gov.my/ms/](https://www.kpdn.gov.my/ms/) to find out the dates and locations of the PJRM Back to School to be held in their area.
“This initiative is expected to help alleviate the financial burden of families, especially those with low incomes, in providing school equipment for their children. This effort also reflects the government's commitment to ensuring access to essential goods at affordable prices,” the minister said.
PJRM Back to School 2025 is one of the initiatives implemented by KPDN to help Malaysians face economic challenges and the rising cost of living. The public is encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to get school supplies at more affordable prices. – February 9, 2025
