SANDAKAN: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) Sandakan branch seized 27,495 packs of suspected counterfeit branded playing cards worth an estimated RM55,079.20 during raids on three business premises here.
The operation was conducted at about noon recently by three enforcement teams from the KPDN Sandakan branch.
The playing cards were suspected of bearing registered trademarks without authorisation from their rightful owners, whose representatives were present to assist in verifying the authenticity of the seized products.
Following the raids, three investigation papers were opened under the Trademarks Act 2019 (Act 815), with further investigations ongoing.
Sandakan District Enforcement Chief Joe Azmi Jamil advised traders to comply with KPDN regulations and ensure branded goods were sourced from legitimate suppliers to avoid selling counterfeit products.
