PUTRAJAYA: The Plantation and Commodities Ministry (KPK) staff and its agencies contributed RM850,566.23 to the Palestinian Humanitarian Fund to aid the people in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement today, KPK said the donation collected by the KPK Sports and Welfare Club was handed over to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof who is also the Minister of Plantation and Commodities.

In addition to the monetary contribution, the KPK, through the Malaysian Rubber Board, also donated 100,000 rubber gloves to medical teams in the Gaza Strip.

The initiative demonstrated the KPK’s support for the Palestinian Humanitarian Fund as per the initiative launched by the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali on Oct 24.

“KPK always supports any genuine initiative and global humanitarian mission, including helping alleviate the sufferings currently experienced by the Palestinian people,“ the statement added. -Bernama
