KPKM clarifies the RM300 per hectare ploughing incentive for padi farmers is paid in two phases to avoid confusion.

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) clarified that the RM300 per hectare ploughing incentive for padi farmers, which began to be disbursed in stages yesterday, is being paid in two phases to avoid confusion.

In a statement today, KPKM said eligible farmers would receive a one-off advance payment of RM200 per hectare before or during ploughing works.

“The remaining RM100 per hectare will be paid after the ploughing works are completed and verified by the relevant agencies according to the prescribed procedures,” it said.

KPKM said the implementation was in line with its May 7 media statement, which outlined the two-phase payment method for the incentive.

The clarification followed media reports yesterday on the phased disbursement of the incentive beginning May 19.

“KPKM appreciates the media’s role in conveying information to the public and hopes this clarification will support accurate reporting and prevent confusion among padi farmers and the public,” the statement added.
