MANILA, Philippines — Television host and actress Kris Aquino is set to undergo a minor medical procedure after elevated blood pressure caused a last-minute delay.

Aquino shared on Instagram Tuesday that the surgery had originally been scheduled for Monday but was postponed after her blood pressure rose to dangerous levels over the weekend.

“This surgery was delayed from yesterday to very soon because my BP was sky high the whole of Sunday- the culprit, my migraine. Thank you to my pain management doctor Henry Lu and his entire team for finding the right formula although Sunday night and yesterday I was given a pharmacy,” Aquino wrote.

She posted the message as she was being brought into the pre-operative area and shared a glimpse into a family moment involving her two sons, Josh and Bimby.

“Entering the pre-OP area. Kuya was shaking and automatically grabbed Bimb’s hand. I did something right in making sure Bimb grew up knowing he’ll be responsible for his Kuya. And Kuya feels secure with Bimb. Going in,” she added.

Hours earlier, Aquino had shared an Instagram Story describing anxiety and sleeplessness as she prepared for the rescheduled procedure.

“Nervous, having trouble sleeping. My procedure was re-sked because my BP last night was too high. My heart is overwhelmed. Praying for PEACE,” she wrote.

News of the operation was also shared by the fan page @KrisAquinoWORLD on X, which asked supporters to pray for the actress, long known as the “Queen of All Media.”

“Hello everyone! Our Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino, will be undergoing a minor operation this Monday. We will post updates regarding the procedure. Maraming salamat sa patuloy na pagdarasal, pagmamahal, at hindi pag-iwan sa ating KCA. We kindly ask for your prayers,” the post said.

The message ended with a prayer for Aquino’s safety and recovery, “Lord, we entrust Kris to You. Please guide the hands of the doctors, grant her a safe procedure, and bless her with a smooth and speedy recovery. Amen.”

Aquino has been battling multiple autoimmune diseases for years, including conditions that affect her muscles, connective tissues and pain tolerance. She has undergone various treatment plans locally and abroad, including a prolonged stay in the United States
