Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Jordi Codina has joined the club's academy coaching staff.

Codina spent seven years in Madrid between 2002 and 2009, and debuted with the first team in a 5-2 win over Levante.

Following his departure from the club, he moved to Getafe where he stayed for six seasons and played 82 games.

He then headed to Cyprus to play for APOEL and Pafos, before returning to Spain to ply his trade at teams such as Reus, Fuenlabrada and Mostoles.

Among his responsibilities, Codina is expected to assist former teammate Raul with developing keepers for the Castilla squad.
