BARISAN Nasional has been sending daily reports to Nenggiri by-election director Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah on the progress of the party's campaign, Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim said.
The BN deputy election director for the Nenggiri by-election mentioned that the reports are based on feedback received regarding their candidate, Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani.
Syahbuddin added that Tengku Razaleigh, fondly known as Ku Li, will join the campaign on Tuesday, August 13.
"Although Ku Li will join us in the campaign for the Nenggiri by-election on 13 August, we send him daily reports on the candidate's activities and the campaign's progress.
"Ku Li is monitoring us from time to time and wants to know the status of our campaign. Although he is not with us in the campaign activities, as an election director, he has all the track records on the number of voters in every polling district," the Galas assemblyman was quoted as saying by the New Straits Times today.
The by-election is a straight fight between BN’s Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani and Perikatan Nasional candidate Mohd Rizwadi Ismail. Polling is set for 17 August.
The Nenggiri by-election was called after Kelantan Speaker Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah declared the seat, held by Mohd Azizi Abu Naim, vacant. The electoral roll for the Nenggiri state seat has 20,245 registered voters. – August 11, 2024.
