KUALA LUMPUR: Police have detained 12 men to assist in investigations into a riot and acts of mischief at an entertainment centre in Cheras.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus stated that several vehicles believed to have been used in the incident were also seized, including a lorry used to ram the premises’ main gate.
He confirmed that all suspects had been arrested and that remand applications had been made to facilitate further investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief and Section 148 for rioting.
Fadil added that a press conference on the latest developments is scheduled for 11 am tomorrow at the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters.
The incident, which occurred last Sunday afternoon, involved a group of masked individuals trespassing into the premises and damaging various items.
A 71-second viral video reportedly showed the group acting aggressively and forcing entry after the lorry rammed the main access gate.
