This is a huge, HUGE reminder to always be aware and mindful of your surroundings when exiting a bank after withdrawing money.
A scary incident took place in Kuantan where a man was knocked unconscious by someone using a motorcycle helmet and stole the RM150,000 that the victim had just withdrew from a bank.
According to a report by China Press, this incident allegedly took place yesterday (February 14) at 2:40pm.
The 41-year-old victim was apparently walking to his car after making the large withdrawal at a Kuantan bank when he was knocked unconscious. After the perpetrator succeeded in stealing the RM150,000, he was seen fleeing on a motorcycle while the poor victim was left on the ground.
It is also believed that the victim’s wife was at the scene.
Based on a post by the 关丹台 Kuantan Complaint King Facebook page, thankfully passersby quickly shielded the victim with umbrellas to protect him from the heat and an ambulance arrived 20 minutes later to transport him to a hospital for treatment.
It is truly scary to think that there are people literally waiting outside of banks to attack you for your withdrawn money. We genuinely hope that the man has a speedy recovery and that the perpetrator is brought to justice immediately.
