KUNAK: The Sabah Water Department has been urged to monitor the condition at the Sg Kalumpang water treatment plant here following murky brown water being supplied to users.

This has gone on for a week and domestic users (residential) were upset with the situation.

“If this situation continues, it can affect the operation of the water filter machine. Many accumulated deposits can be seen from the piped water reservoir that is supplied to the house. This contaminated and dirty water is not suitable for washing clothes and bathing,” a consumer who contacted Daily Express said.

Meanwhile, another user known as Razif said the relevant authorities has to take action to resolve the problem as it was not new and repeatedly happened before.

“Imagine if the water that goes into the storage tank in the house is dirty for a month…it is not suitable even if you want to use it. I hope the water treatment plant in Kunak can overcome this problem,” he said.

Daily Express has submitted the complaint to the management of the Sg Kalumpang Water Treatment Plant in Kunak.
