KUNAK: The operating hours for the only petrol kiosk (Petron) in Pekan Kunak, will be open 6am to 10pm daily.
According to Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) Enforcement Officer Malai Rosidi Malai Muhammad, this followed the temporary closure of another petrol kiosk, Petronas, in the area.
He said this during a Kunak District Information Department dialogue session with participants of the Info-on-Wheels (IOW) outreach programme and a briefing on current issues.
He said the Petronas kiosk operation at the Bangunan Sapang Pekan Kunak is being temporarily shut down to allow for the maintenance and replacement of an underground storage tank at the premises.
The Petronas kiosk has been closed since June 15 and is scheduled to remain closed until August.
This causes traffic congestion on the route leading to the Petron kiosk, where vehicles can be observed in a long line for petrol refills at certain times.
According to Malai Rosidi, despite the fact that the district currently has only a petrol kiosk in operation, the supply is sufficient to fulfil demand, even during the impending AidilAdha celebrations.
