The two-day business plan competition, Kurukshetra Business League ‘26 (KBL ‘26), organised in a hybrid format by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra, concluded on Sunday.
Held under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, the event attracted enthusiastic participation from students and aspiring entrepreneurs from across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, the faculty in-charge highlighted the importance of fostering entrepreneurial thinking among engineering students and praised the organising team for successfully conducting the event in a hybrid format.
The competition was conducted in two rounds. On the opening day, participants presented their business ideas using the Lean Canvas framework, a structured model designed to assess their understanding of problem identification, target market analysis and revenue generation. The second day featured the Final Pitch Round, where shortlisted teams delivered refined business presentations before a panel of expert evaluators during a live hybrid session.
In the Inter-Institutional Category, Team A&S Biochar from Jadavpur University secured first position for its innovative solution and strong overall performance. Team Dualspark from NIT Kurukshetra was awarded second position, in recognition of its commendable efforts and entrepreneurial potential.
IIC NIT Kurukshetra has been at the forefront of promoting innovation and start-up culture within the institution, regularly organising high-impact programmes in line with the Ministry of Education’s MIC-driven initiatives. KBL ‘26 marks another milestone in the council’s efforts to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world business challenges.
