PAPAR: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (Kuskop) has proposed that Co-opBank Pertama (CBP) further expand its services to the interior of Sabah by opening a new branch in Keningau.

Its minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said Keningau has the potential for the opening of banking and financial branches since it is a large town.

“We understand that these banking and financial institutions have their ways of governance that will first study whether they can open new branches. However, I personally invite CBP to look at the possibility of opening new branches in the interior, especially in Keningau.

“I believe they will look into this proposal but I leave it to CBP. But basically, the people of Sabah should be members of CBP. With more members in Sabah, it will be easier to establish more CBP branches in the state,” he told reporters here.
