Kuwait reopens airspace after a brief shutdown triggered by Iranian attacks, as authorities condemn continued regional escalation

KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait reopened its airspace to commercial traffic on Thursday after the latest volley of Iranian attacks caused a brief shutdown, its civil aviation body said.

“Air traffic in Kuwaiti airspace has returned to normal,” the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said in a statement.

Kuwait’s military had earlier said air defences were engaging “hostile aerial targets”, after the United States launched fresh attacks against Iran.

A foreign ministry statement expressed “Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation of the continued sinful and repeated Iranian attacks”.

“These blatant attacks reflect a systematic, aggressive approach, which the State of Kuwait will neither accept nor tolerate,” the statement said.
