Kylie Minogue Netflix documentary to explore pop star’s life and reinventions

A new three-part documentary promises an "intimate" look into the life and career of pop icon Kylie Minogue, charting her journey to global stardom.

Titled KYLIE, the Netflix production will see the singer open up about her experiences, exploring how she "reshaped pop and became one of music’s most enduring icons".

The series, from the creators behind Netflix’s acclaimed Beckham documentary, will feature a wealth of archival material, including home movies, personal photographs, and new interviews with Minogue herself.

Netflix has stated it will "examine how she’s faced public scrutiny, personal loss, and illness with grit and grace, earning respect far beyond her own fandom," referencing her 2005 breast cancer diagnosis.

Insights will also come from a host of friends, family, and collaborators, including her sister Dannii Minogue, Jason Donovan, Nick Cave, and Pete Waterman.

The documentary will trace the Australian star's remarkable reinventions, from her breakout role as Charlene Robinson in Neighbours in the 1980s to her chart-topping music career spanning five decades and over 80 million records sold.

Emmy and Bafta award-winning director Michael Harte is at the helm, with production by John Battsek’s Ventureland. Further details, including the official release date, are expected to be announced by Netflix in due course.
